Founder and Leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, has placed value on Ghanaian journalists over politicians most especially Parliamentarians who make laws for the country.

The Presidential hopeful defending her claims, believes that Ghanaian journalists have become more powerful and key pillars over politicians in the nation-building agenda.

“Journalists are more important or superior to other workers in the country. Journalists are far more important than police and parliamentarians. Without them, we will not be informed,” Madam Akua Donkor said in Twi in an interview on Accra-based Rainbow Radio.

She made the statement when justifying why she sought to reappoint seasoned media practitioner with Neat FM – Adakabre Frimpong Manso as her running mate for the forthcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking further, Madam Akua Donkor said that, for her value of journalists in the country, she would dedicate a lot of resources to make their work more efficient if elected as President in the next election since they are the fourth estate of the country.

“…. That is why I have pledged to give media houses cars when I win the elections. I will also initiate special awards to reward hardworking and dedicated journalists,” she stressed.

Madam Akua Donkor also expressed her readiness and competence to manage the country as the next President when given the nod in the coming December 7, 2024, general election.
