Devote full commitment to your core mandates and stop chasing awards – Mahama tells appointees

Divine Nkrumah, the Director of Operations for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), has said he has still not come to terms with the circumstances that led to the election of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s President.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, he said the actions and inactions of Ghana’s leader does not suggest he was chosen by God to lead the country.

“It is not that God does not communicate with us, but rather, we the citizens have hardened our hearts and refused to listen. It was our own decision to elect Nana Addo, and that is why we are suffering today.”

He further criticized Ghanaians for repeatedly electing leaders who do not have the people’s best interests at heart, saying, “We are the ones who choose those who end up ruling us with cruelty and indifference.

“If you go to the polls, and despite knowing all the shortcomings of the NPP government, you still cast your vote for them, it’s clear you lack discernment. You must either be foolish or deliberately ignorant to continue supporting a party that has failed to deliver on its promises.”

Nkrumah’s remarks were a pointed critique of the current government, emphasizing the need for citizens to think critically about their voting decisions and the impact of electing leaders who do not prioritize the welfare of the people.
