A member of the communication team for the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has urged Ghanaians not to vote for “foolish” people come the December 7, 2024, elections.

According to him, he watched a video posted online in which renowned man of God, Bishop Duncan Williams emphasized this important statement during a sermon, urging Ghanaians to be discerning in their voting choices.

In his statement, he expressed his appreciation for the bishop’s message and stated that he was willing to attend his church.

Mr. Owusu further noted that Article 42 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution clearly mandates the Electoral Commission to register individuals who are 18 years and older and possess sound minds.

He stated, “They want Ghanaians to vote for sound people, just as you yourself have a sound mind. Even in America, a large country, not every vote is counted.” He added that we cannot compare someone who lacks life experience to someone responsible for caring for over a thousand people in the country.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show during a panel discussion on October 22, 2024, Mr. Owusu made a serious allegation, while on his way to work, he saw the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conveying two buses filled with supporters to Parliament House.

He expressed his disappointment in the NPP, stating that its members have lost faith in their own representatives in Parliament.

Mr. Owusu added that, he is urging Ghanaians to consider independent candidates in the upcoming elections, asserting that they should not vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as he believes these parties will not lead Ghanaians toward progress.
