Akufo-Addo’s govt has made the largest Investment in TVET Education – Info Minister

The Minister of information, Fatimatu Abubakar has said that, the government of the Nana Akufo-Addo has made the largest investment in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) education since the beginning of the fourth republic.
These investments, the Minister said in an interview with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah on Angel Morning Show (AMS) said are to meet the education, skills and job needs of the youth.
“We have to ensure that we send the children to school, provide them with additional skills and give the dropouts and those who did not attend school handy jobs and these trainings have helped the youth who did not have the opportunity to attend secondary education”, she said.
She said the TVET centres which have been established across the country have been ‘fully equipped with materials’ to enhance learning.
Ms Abubakar said this has contributed to advancement in technical education and resulted in students displaying their various skills including making and flying drones.
“The introduction of STEM and STEM module schools at Obuasi, Kpasenkpe, Weija and Agogo among others have changed the face of education in the country completely,” she added.
The Minister also mentioned that persons with disability will be given free access to further their education at the University because there is a saying that “disability is not inability.”
“Dr. Bawumia will offer the youth with 1 million digital skills. They will be trained in coding, app development among others for us to also benefit from today’s digital revolution which is fourth industrial revolution Ghana,” she assured.
