The Member of Parliament for the Shai-Osudoku Constituency, Linda Obenewa Ocloo, has been named among 10 regional ministerial nominees awaiting approval.
She has been nominated as the Greater Accra Regional Minister-Designate by President John Dramani Mahama, as part of his first list of regional ministerial appointments.
Other nominees have been selected for the Oti, Volta, Eastern, Northern, North East, Upper East, Ashanti, Ahafo, and Savannah regions.
This was announced in a letter signed by the Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, addressed to the Speaker of Parliament.
The letter outlined the President’s nominees and their respective portfolios.
They are expected to undergo a vetting process for approval before assuming office.
However, six regions remain unfilled, including Western, Western North, Central, Bono East, Bono, and Upper West.
President Mahama, as part of his administrative restructuring initiative aimed at improving efficiency and streamlining government operations, has reduced the number of ministries from 30 to 23.
