A Communication Team Member for the Movement for Change, Ebo Buckman, has claimed that the former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, and former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Ernest Addison, are primarily responsible behind the current state of Ghana’s economy.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Ofori Atta, and Mr. Addison are the major contributors to the challenges facing Ghana’s development.

He noted that these individuals have significantly run down the economy to its current level.

He pointed out that, Ghanaians had entrusted the immediate past New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with the opportunity to revitalize the economy over eight years; however, they failed to make any substantial improvements.

“Let me tell you, three people who run down this economy, Dr. Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and his Governor. These were the three people who run down Ghana’s economy. They’re the people who took us where we are now,” he claimed.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on April 3, 2025, he also acknowledged President Mahama for fulfilling his promises as outlined in his 2024 campaign manifesto, particularly regarding the removal of certain taxes on Ghanaians, including the E-Levy and taxes on sports betting. He believes that these measures will significantly enhance the economy.

He emphasised that the high cost of living in Ghana is a major problem affecting citizens.
