Political commentator Ebo Buckman has said that Ghana’s governance system depends on President John Dramani Mahama’s current administration.
He predicts doom for the future of the country’s democratic governance if the President does not take decisive action.
Addressing leadership failure and incompetence as reasons for the country’s lack of progress, Mr. Buckman expressed discontent with the duopoly of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stressed that the story could be rewritten for a new chapter in Ghana’s democracy but pointed to Mr. Mahama as the one to lead this challenge.
“If you take a critical look at how badly Ghana has been destroyed under our leaders, it is too much. The NDC is one leg of the duopoly, and if Mahama’s government fails, our democracy is gone,” said the communications team member of the Movement for Change.
He warned that this situation could render democracy irrelevant for Ghanaians if the President does not utilize the people’s trust repose in him to address the mess.
“….Then democracy is of no use to us [Ghana],” Mr. Buckman told Saddick Adams, host of the Angel Morning Show on April 3, 2025.
Expressing confidence in Mr. Mahama’s administration, he emphasized the importance of moving beyond partisanship and adopting a nationalistic approach to support this cause.
