The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo, has announced that her administration will establish a 24-hour task force to enhance the sanitation campaign in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on April 4, 2025, Madam Ocloo elaborated that the new task force will operate throughout Greater Accra to implement essential measures aimed at improving sanitation.
“We’re going to have a 24-hour task force that will operate within Accra so that if something happens, they can prevent it for us as early as possible. These are some of the measures we’re going to put in place,” she asserted.
According to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shai-Osudoku, the new task force will focus on clearing Accra and its surroundings to promote proper sanitation for the citizens. She remarked that sanitation in Greater Accra is currently very poor; however, this initiative will help reinforce effective measures to address such challenges.
Madam Ocloo emphasised that her primary objective is to enforce a robust sanitation system in Greater Accra and its environs. She indicated that the new task force will also work to remove unauthorized signboards and posters to ensure that Accra is kept clean and visually appealing.
She said, “Trust me, we’re going to have a very tough exercise and make sure that we beautify Accra. When we start prosecuting people, they’ll behave.”
