The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo, wants mass transfer of engineers from the Region for issuing unauthorised permits to individuals.

According to her, engineers in Greater Accra are a significant factor contributing to Ghana’s challenges; consequently, most of these engineers will be reassigned from the region.

She noted that the problematic attitude of these engineers has led every government that assumes power to transfer them.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on April 4, 2025, she asserted that engineers should not use their political affiliations to undermine any government in power. She pointed out that any form of sabotage will result in transfers from Greater Accra.

“The fact that you’re an NPP does not mean when NDC is in power, and you’re still at your post, doesn’t mean you should sabotage. When we see any form of sabotage, we’ll make sure to transfer you. Trust me, a lot of engineers will be transferred from Greater Accra.

“I’ll make sure that we transfer 99% of the engineers because they’re the cause of our problems,” she warned.

The minister also condemned the actions of the engineers for authorising permits for citizens to construct their homes.
