The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nzema East, Herbert Kuah Dickson, has appealed to all five paramount chiefs within the municipality to unite in a collective effort to drive development across the area.

Speaking at the installation ceremony of the newly enstooled Paramount Chief of the Upper Axim Traditional Area, Mr. Kuah explained the vital role traditional authorities play in local governance and development.

He noted that chiefs actively engage in community development, thus alleviating the burdens on government and expediting progress at the grassroots level.

The event marked the conclusion of a protracted 48-year chieftaincy dispute that had hindered growth and harmony in Upper Axim.

“The Constituency here has five paramount chiefs, and Axim has two, with one being vacant for 48 years. God being so good, everything is in the process, and today Upper Axim has a paramount chief.”

“He is here to help me work together, and God being so good, all five paramounts now have chiefs. They must all come together to collaborate with their chiefs. When the chiefs are performing their duties, it alleviates certain workloads on us,” he explained.
