Football enthusiasts in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality of the Western Region will be privileged to witness top-tier football action as the 2024/2025 MTN FA Cup enters its crucial semifinal stage.
The cup competition, having reached the semifinal stage, will feature electrifying fixtures at the iconic TNA Stadium on Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The action kicks off on Saturday with an all-Division One clash between Attram De Visser and Golden Kicks.
It continues on Sunday with a highly anticipated showdown between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea.
Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, said strategic plans have been outlined to keep spectators engaged throughout the event.
“We all know that Golden Kicks, led by Fiifi Parker Hanson and Attram De Visser, are not well known in that area, and we know in football if you are not able to create a festival, people come to watch stars. If they don’t have stars, it becomes tricky. This is our strategy,” he explained.
“They have a very hot DJ who is well liked in Tarkwa. He will perform at the program. There are a lot of little surprises added,” Mr. Arthur noted.
He expressed confidence that the TNA Stadium would successfully host Ghanaian football fans and assured them of a well-organized and entertaining weekend.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Arthur stated that all logistical and promotional preparations had been fully completed ahead of the two high-stakes matches.
“If you look at the fever building up, if you look at the radio stations there [Tarkwa] promoting the games, it is very, very positive. Thank God everything is in place,” he stated.
According to him, there will also be a food bazaar as part of the weekend’s events, coinciding with this year’s Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.
“Sunday is Mother’s Day, we will be doing a food bazaar. We’ve also done a curtain raiser for two schools on Saturday. Because they have a lot of old students and that rivalry between them, they will come along with fans, and that will help patronage for day one.”
