New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Tema West, Kwasi Poku, has advised Ghanaians to be extra careful about the kind of leaders they elect to govern the country.

Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, he stated that many genuine individuals are experienced and capable of becoming good leaders.

He, however, noted that due to partisan politics and the influence of money, Ghanaians often end up making poor electoral choices, decisions that ultimately affect the country’s progress.

“We have made politics look like it is only the affluent who are capable of being a leader,” he stated.

He cited a scenario complimenting NPP’s Boakye Agyarko (Former Energy Minister) as a very intelligent individual whose speeches is full of wisdom but because he does not use money to influence the party members, they overlook his capabilities and potentials.

Further cautioning the general public to be circumspect in delaing with political leaders remarked that “Politicians do not really think about Ghanaians,” he added.

Mr. Poku strssed and used the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), government as a case studey where he described its as a ‘social media and settings’ government.
