Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency, Charles Asiedu, has endorsed President’s Mahama directive for Metropolitan Municipal District Chief Executives (MMDCES) to declare their assets.

Mr. Asiedu indicated the President’s move is seen as a important step towards promoting transparency and accountability in local governance.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) with Saddick Adams, Mr. Asiedu said this approach will ensure the (MMDCEs) to give transparent account about their financial and development projects in other to prevent potential conflicts of interest.

He asserted that, Ghanaians must welcome this move in other to help build trust in our local government officials.

“Transparency is key to good governance,” says Mr. Asiedu on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

“On the case of Prez. Mahama directive, l support it more than 100% and a step in the right direction. It will help to prevent corruption and ensure that the MMDCEs serve the people well.

“Let’s all join hands to get fight bribery and corruption, favouritism and nepotism out of our country.”
