Ghana has confirmed two additional cases of Monkey Pox commonly referred to as Mpox, raising the total number of recorded infections to 119.

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in its regular update, the latest cases were recorded as of June 22, 2025,

The GHS reported that no admissions or fatalities have been linked to the disease since its emergence in the country.

Emphasising preventive practices, the Service urges “Avoiding close contact with individuals who have visible rashes and washing your hands regularly are key steps to staying protected.”

While the infection can be self-limiting in many cases, GHS continues to urge vigilance, particularly in communities where cases have been reported.

The public is hereby advised to visit the nearest health facility if they experience symptoms or feel unwell.

Mpox typically presents with symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, and swollen glands.
