The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has inaugurated two key committees to oversee preparations for its upcoming Presidential Primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

At a brief ceremony held at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, two important committee’s – the Vetting Committee, and the Elections Committee.

Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor will chair the vetting committee whiles the Elections Committee is chaired by Joseph Osei Owusu.

Speaking at the inauguration, NPP Acting National Chairman, Danquah Smith Buttey, expressed confidence in the committees’ capacity to uphold the integrity of the process.

“We have confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a free, fair, and transparent election process. We urge all stakeholders, delegates, and party faithfuls to cooperate with the committee to ensure the success of this crucial exercise,” he stated.

The Presidential Primaries will determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
