Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has appealed to Ghanaians to view the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight public officials as a national tragedy, rather than a partisan issue in order to promote unity in the face of the grief.

He stated this at the Jubilee House in Accra on Friday, August 8, 2025, where he went to lay flowers in honor of the fallen individuals.

He described the deaths as a profoundly painful loss, emphasizing that Ghana has suffered tremendously from this tragedy.Bawumia mourns

“The grief comes to all Ghanaians, it’s not just about me, it’s not just the NDC, it’s all of us.

“This is a national tragedy, eight public officials on official duty so they were in the service of the country and they had this tragic accident and they lost their lives.Bawumia mourns

“It’s a very very painful loss, Ghana has lost just a tremendous amount of this particular tragedy; I mean this is not a partisan issue, it’s a national tragedy,” Dr. Bawumia stated.Bawumia mourns
