A 50-year-old truck pusher, identified only as Mr. Ofori, was discovered dead inside an uncompleted market store building at Mankessim, located in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
Mr. Ofori, who had lived in the area for over 15 years, relocated from Obuasi to Mankessim in search of work.
According to reports, he earned his daily bread by pushing trucks at the local market.
However, reports indicate that he fell ill several months ago and was no longer able to work. During this time, he relied on food and support from traders in the market.
On Monday, September 1, 2025, around 3:00 PM, Mr. Ofori reportedly passed away inside the uncompleted building.
The Assembly Member for Mankessim Old Nkusukum, Emmanuel K. Baiden, has appealed to residents especially those from nearby town to assist in locating the deceased’s family so they can be informed of his passing.
The incident was reported to the police, who arrived at the scene and transported the body to the mortuary.
Investigations have commenced to uncover further details surrounding his death and to trace his relatives.
