Hilife hitmaker, Kofi Nti, has expressed deep admiration and gratitude to the late Hilife legend,Daddy Lumba.
Speaking in an interview, Kofi Nti revealed that his connection with Lumba began long before they met in person.
“Even when Daddy Lumba was alive, I sang his songs because I really liked him. Before I met him, I had so much love for his music. After meeting him, he took me along to programs and stages to perform with him, and through that I learned a lot. For a legend like Lumba to take me with him to shows, it means a lot it’s a big grace for me,” he said.
Kofi Nti further noted that with Lumba’s passing, his responsibility is to honor his legacy wherever he goes.
“So now if he’s no more, I don’t have anything to give him. All I can do is give a good name to him wherever I go. Through his music, he has so many fans who listen to his songs every day,” he added.
The Rakia hits maker also acknowledged the striking similarities between his voice and that of the late icon, a resemblance fans have often pointed out.
“Sometimes when I sing, people tell me my voice sounds like his. So I will also use that opportunity to praise him whenever I perform on stage,” he said.
He concluded by affirming that Daddy Lumba’s impact will never fade.
“Even though he’s dead, his spirit and legacy will still remain. I will continue to honor and praise him,” he emphasized.
