The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has charged the playing body of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars, to carry the hopes and aspirations of Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, as they continue the country’s quest for a fifth global tournament.
Ahead of today’s encounter with Chad in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the ministry reminded the team of the nation’s support and the need to secure victory.
In a goodwill message ahead of the match scheduled for 1:00 p.m., the ministry extended its heartfelt support and best wishes.
“This match is not just a sporting event – it is a moment of national pride and unity. You carry the hopes and aspirations of millions of Ghanaians, both at home and abroad. Your dedication, discipline, and teamwork continue to inspire the nation.
“We urge you to approach this match with the passion and determination that have always defined Ghanaian football. Play with heart, play with purpose, and above all, play for Ghana,” the statement signed by sector minister Kofi Adams read.
According to the statement, the entire country stands firmly behind the team, affirming: “We’re with you in spirit, make Ghana proud.”
