Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has requested amnesty for Staff Nurse Bernice Aboagye following a query letter issued to her over unprofessional comments allegedly made on social media against the Minister.

According to a press release dated Sunday, October 12, 2025 and signed by the Head of Health Training Institutions and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health (MoH), Tony Goodman, the Minister has taken notice of the situation.

In the release, Mr. Akandoh commended the Ghana Health Service for upholding professionalism and the Code of Conduct for health workers.

However, he appealed to the Service to temper justice with mercy in addressing the matter.

According to him, both he and the government welcome divergent views and constructive criticism as part of his commitment to fostering tolerance and openness to diverse opinions.

The Minister further urged all health workers to express their opinions responsibly and respectfully, without resorting to insults, as it contributes to the healthy growth and development of the health sector.

The MoH stressed that while it supports the constitutional right of citizens to demonstrate and express frustration, it will not condone the use of abusive language or acts of indiscipline during such demonstrations.
