Government Communications Team Member, Alidu Ibrahim (Esq) has explained that the government’s decision to migrate AT (AirtelTigo) to Telecel stems from one of AT’s key challenges which is their outdated infrastructure, a key challenge hindering its operations.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Thursday, October 16, 2025, he said AT’s system is currently down, and their outdated software and billing system are inefficient and unreliable.
“The infrastructure of AT is outdated, their software is an old version, their call billing and their system is down so they’re not efficient and reliable like they’re supposed to be,” he explained.
He further added that customers are not getting the service quality they deserve from AT due to these challenges.
“Customers are also not getting a better user experience like they’re supposed to, these are some of the challenges they’re facing,” he emphasized.
