The Suhum Municipal Fire Station, part of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has conducted an important fire safety education session for members of the local Cocoa Farmers Association.
In a statement filed by the Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the GNFS on Thursday, October 16, 2025, the initiative aimed to equip the farmers with essential knowledge on fire safety to protect themselves, their workplaces, and homes.
During the session, the team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station covered vital topics including classes of fire, handling LPG leakages, managing vehicular fires, and the correct use of fire extinguishers.
Farmers were also provided with vital safety tips applicable to both their workplaces and homes.
To ensure prompt action in case of emergencies, the fire service’s emergency contact numbers were shared with the attendants.
The management of the Cocoa Farmers Association expressed appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of fire safety education for enhancing community safety.
