Member of the United Party and Economist, Dr. Nana Yaw Adutwum has urged stakeholders to push the government to prosecute individuals who allegedly made fraudulent claims from the State.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show (AMS) on Friday, November 14, 2025, Dr. Adutwum described the Budget Statement presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, as “one that avoids accountability and shields individuals from prosecution.”
He stressed that the alleged officials involved in fraudulent claims to be prosecuted and urged the media and stakeholders to increase pressure on the government.
“The media should help to hold the government to expose embezzlers because they go unpunished, that is why the practice continues, and this is something we should not tolerate,” he argued
Dr. Adutwum further suggested that if the government has been able to secure significant savings from the auditing process, the alleged embezzlers should be prosecuted.
“So why should such malpractice must stop and will not be tolerated in the country.
”The audit revealed savings of about 10 billion cedis,“ he revealed.
