Black Stars defender Francis Abu has taken a significant step in his recovery journey, returning to the gym as part of his rehabilitation process.
The Toulouse FC midfielder suffered fractures to two bones during Ghana’s international friendly against Japan in Nagoya last year.
He underwent successful surgery shortly after the incident and has since been steadily progressing through various stages of recovery.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Abu’s current gym work marks another important phase in his rehabilitation.
“Francis Abu is making steady progress in his rehabilitation after he hit the gym this week in his recovery process. His current state is another phase of the rehabilitation process,” a statement from the GFA stated.
The statement expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their unwavering support and well wishes during the player’s recovery.
“The Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars medical team and the technical team continue to thank Ghanaians for the support and wishes to state that the player is doing extremely well and will get back to full fitness.”
