A tragic bee‑stinging incident at Anloga E.P. Basic School in the Volta Region resulted in two student deaths and 28 injuries among the school community.
In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Daniel Fenyi on Friday, December 19, 2025, revealed that on Wednesday, 17 December, a swarm attacked 30 people: five teachers who tried to rescue learners, three school feeding cooks, and 22 learners.
Two of the learners lost their lives, leaving 28 individuals injured.
The GES expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and pledged full support for the injured.
The management of the GES is working with the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Natural Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to remove the bee habitat and prevent future attacks.
