The Upper Amenfi Rural Bank PLC has donated a 500 KVA power plant valued at GHC350,000 to the Diaso Health Centre in the Upper Denkyira West District.

The donation aims to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare, particularly during power outages from the national grid.

According to the bank, the plant will also improve security in the catchment area of the facility.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Anthony Mensah, Board Chairman of Upper Amenfi Rural Bank, expressed his joy in supporting both staff and patients.

He explained that the equipment, including installation, cost GHC350,000 and will enable health workers to provide uninterrupted services. Mr. Mensah further pledged to assist the facility in constructing a protective wall around the centre.

Highlighting the bank’s achievements, Mr. Mensah noted that Upper Amenfi Rural Bank recently emerged as the second-best rural bank in Ghana in terms of deposit mobilization.

Mr. Ignatius Appiah Otwe, CEO of Upper Amenfi Rural Bank, urged the health centre’s management to maintain the plant properly and use it for its intended purpose.

He assured residents that the bank remains committed to supporting development in the district and encouraged the people of Upper Denkyira West to bank with them.

He also disclosed plans to drill boreholes in the district, beginning with the Agona Port community.

The District Health Director, Mr. Kon-Agna Fedelix, expressed gratitude for the timely donation.

He assured that the facility would put the equipment to good use, noting that it will help staff deliver effective healthcare services during power interruptions.

He added that management has rolled out a maintenance plan to ensure the plant remains in good working condition.
