The latest survey by Global InfoAnalytics reveals a commanding lead for former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race.
Global InfoAnalytics, which has consistently tracked NPP polls for several months, has reported that Dr. Bawumia now commands a substantial 73% support among NPP delegates.
In second place is Kennedy Agyapong with 19%, followed by Dr. Bryan Acheampong with 5%. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong follow with 2% and 1%, respectively.
Unlike previous reports, the latest Global InfoAnalytics update did not omit percentages for undecided and undisclosed voters, providing a more comprehensive picture of the likely outcome of the upcoming NPP primaries.
In the last report, which excluded up to 20% of delegates who were either undecided or unwilling to disclose their votes, Dr. Bawumia had a narrower 45% lead while Kennedy Agyapong garnered 31%.
The recent update indicates that Bawumia’s lead has widened significantly, while Kennedy Agyapong’s support has notably decreased.
In another focus of the survey, Global InfoAnalytics reported that approximately 56% of general Ghanaian voters prefer Dr. Bawumia to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections.
Kennedy Agyapong was in second place with 28%, while 6% expressed support for both Dr. Bryan Acheampong and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and 4% favoured Kwabena Agyepong.
The NPP will hold its elections on January 31st next year to select a flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
