The Ghana National Fire Service has responded to a fuel leakage involving a bulk storage tanker on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 7:03 a.m.
According to the press statement from the GNFS date Wednesday, December 31, stated that the “tanker with (Reg. No. GR 4126 N) transporting premix fuel from Tema to Mankessim after the tanker sustained a dent on the side.”

The GNFS explained that firefighters from the Dansoman Fire Station swiftly secured the area and cautioned nearby residents against naked flames to prevent the ignition of flammable vapours.
“Firefighters from the Dansoman Fire Station quickly arrived and swiftly secured the area at Sakaman Junction near A1 Bakery in Accra, cautioned nearby residents against naked flames, and applied foam to suppress flammable vapours,” the Fire Service highlighted.

The Service added that traffic management support from the Police MTTD was provided while litres of fuel were transferred into a second tanker.
“With traffic management support from the Police MTTD, 13,500 litres of fuel was safely transferred into a second tanker at 1000 hours,” the Service emphasized.
The GNFS highly commended the Dansoman Firefighters for their swift, professional, and courageous response, which successfully averted a potential explosion and demonstrated their strong commitment to public safety and the protection of lives and property.
