Former Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Peter Kwakye-Ackah, has revealed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) pretended to support Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in his quest for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position.

Speaking on Anopa Bofo on Tuesday, he stated that they tricked the NPP into believing they were rallying behind Mr. Agyapong, adding that they fell for it and elected Dr. Bawumia instead.

“We tricked NPP because we pretended to like Kennedy Agyapong, and you fell for it and voted for Bawumia,” he revealed.

He reiterated that Bawumia would spell doom for the NPP, stating that he is no match for the NDC.

“I have said it several times that Bawumia was going to win, and if he does, it will be a disaster for the party,” he emphasized.

Mr. Ackah added that while the former Assin Central lawmaker possess qualities of a strong leader, his commentaries and speeches are lacking.

“I feel that Kennedy was quite good, but his speeches are poor; tough leaders sometimes behave that way,” he said however.
