The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has urged Members of Parliament to make love, respect, and unity a hallmark of their conduct.
He noted that although Parliamentarians may agree and disagree on certain issues due to political differences, they must still come together as one for the progress of the nation.
Speaking during the first meeting of the second session of the Ninth Parliament, the Speaker expressed optimism that this session would be a fruitful one.
He wished all members of the House a peaceful and productive stay.
The Majority Leader of Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, welcomed all members back and commended them for their hard work in previous sittings.
He added that the government has achieved a lot that deserves commendation as the first meeting of the second session of the Ninth Parliament begins.
However, the Minority Leader, Osahene Alexander Afenyo-Markin, criticized the government for failing to manage the economy with a transformational vision, arguing that it has neglected issues confronting ordinary citizens.
