The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced that it has detained an undisclosed number of stray cattle within the metropolis.
According to the KMA, the detention, carried out during an exercise on Sunday, 15 February 2026, took place within the vicinity of the Kumasi High Court.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Assembly indicated that the exercise “forms part of ongoing efforts to keep the city clean, orderly, and safe for all residents and road users.”
The statement directed owners of the affected animals to contact the Environmental Health Unit of KMA within seven days for further information and necessary action.
The Assembly urged residents to contribute to maintaining a clean and disciplined Kumasi.
