Nana Agradaa, has opened up about the fear and uncertainty she experienced on the day she began serving her prison sentence.

In video released by the Ghana Prisons Service, Agradaa recounted the emotional moment she was escorted to prison.

“When I was going to prison, I was shaking in fear,” she said. “I kept telling God that I leave myself in His hands because I did not know what the prison experience would be like.”

According to her, receiving a 15-year sentence was a moment she struggled to process internally. She admitted that she repeatedly questioned herself and found it difficult to reconcile the severity of the punishment with her own understanding of her actions at the time.

Despite the fear and uncertainty, Agradaa said she held firmly to her faith. She explained that she believed prayer and the Word of God had the power to change circumstances.

“When it comes to problems, it is prayers and the Word of God only that can save you. So I put my faith in prayer and God’s Word,” she stated. “I threw a challenge to God that if He is the God of yesterday and today, what He did for Elijah, He should do the same for me…for people to know that indeed He is my God. And indeed, He did it.”

Agradaa further revealed that she immersed herself in scripture during her time in custody, drawing parallels between her situation and biblical accounts of imprisonment and eventual restoration.
