The Managing Director of Krombacher International in Germany, Oliver Braun, has expressed satisfaction with his company’s partnership with Angel Group of Companies in Ghana.
In an interview on ‘Anopa Bofuo’ show on Thursday, March 5, 2026, he emphasized that the partnership represents an exciting opportunity for them, despite previous hesitations about entering the African market.
Mr. Braun noted that Krombacher has encountered numerous trials in exploring possibilities in Africa but expressed joy in choosing Ghana as their first partner.
He recognizes Ghana as a standout country within the African market.
He highlighted that, the existence of broader product cycles, category cycles, and market cycles, pointing out a significant level of market saturation and reduced growth in other parts of the world.
However, he believes that Africa, and particularly Ghana, holds immense potential for growth over the next decade or even the next two to three decades.
“This is not hesitation; it is waiting for the right moment, and I believe that the right moment has come now,” he stated.
Braun revealed his observations of Ghana’s growing economy, exceptional education system, and increasing population, all of which present promising opportunities for business which reflecting on their keen desire to collaborate with the Angel Group to manufacture beer and other non-alcoholic beverages.
“What I do see here is a growing economy, amazing education. We had the honour of visiting the campus in Kumasi; it was fantastic to see so many young people eager for education and subsequent job opportunities, and of course for money and consuming afterwards, and there is a growing population as well,” he stated.
He further reaffirmed that establishing a brewery in Ghana will eventually lead to a business model based on local licences, further anchoring Krombacher’s commitment to long-term success in Ghana.
