Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, has stated that Ghana’s economic indicators have revealed a stronger fiscal discipline to strengthen the economy.

In his speech at the 69th Independence Day parade on Friday, March 6, 2026, Mr. Allotey-Gaise noted that these gains are essential for restoring hope and building prosperity for all Ghanaians.

He highlighted the significant reduction in the cost of living recorded over the past year

“Inflation, which was at 20% in early 2025, declined significantly to about 5.4% by December 2025, and further to 3.8% in January, reflecting improving price stability,” he disclosed.

He stated that the cedi has strengthened considerably against major foreign currencies, supported by improved foreign reserves and better fiscal management, adding that the “nkoko nkitinkiti” project is scheduled to be launched next week to boost local production.

“I am pleased to inform you that the assembly has been allocated 10,000 birds under the program,” he disclosed.

“To date, a total of 199 individuals have registered, comprising 72 males and 27 females,” he added.
