Ghana is hosting a review visit by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) from March 9 to 12, 2026, in Accra.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., welcomed the high-level delegation, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and responsible governance in the international diamond trade.

The review visit aims to assess Ghana’s implementation of the Kimberley Process and to strengthen systems to ensure that diamonds produced and exported meet international standards, thereby supporting national development.

Mr. Gyamfi emphasized Ghana’s dedication to upholding KPCS principles, highlighting reforms to improve oversight, including enhanced inspection and verification mechanisms, internal control systems, and capacity-building initiatives.

The delegation will engage in technical briefings, site visits, and meetings with stakeholders to evaluate Ghana’s compliance with KPCS standards.

Ghana currently serves as Vice Chair of the Kimberley Process and is set to assume the chairmanship in 2027.
