Self-styled relationship counsellor, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, has explained the circumstances surrounding his recent arrest by the Ghana Police Service.
The outspoken counsellor was reportedly arrested after making controversial claims that Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba had been buried in his own house, a statement that sparked widespread reactions on social media.
In a viral video circulating online, Lutterodt addressed the incident and clarified what happened during his arrest.
“Everyone is asking why the handcuff. To be honest, I didn’t know, but my lawyer said he will explain to me. The truth is I was told they needed a picture and they took my picture, but later in the presence of my lawyer they said they needed to handcuff me so they could take a handcuff picture,” he stated.
He also expressed surprise about how the photos from the arrest surfaced online, particularly on TikTok.
“I am yet to understand why the pictures are running on people’s TikTok. I don’t know if it’s on the Ghana Police website. I tried to allow my team check, but as I sit we are yet to confirm if the pictures I saw were actually picked from the Ghana Police website,” he added.
Lutterodt, who says he has since been released, urged his supporters to remain calm and avoid any actions that could lead to a breach of the peace.
“The important thing is that Counsellor Lutterodt is out. Nobody should create any scene because anything you do that will amount to breaching the peace for my sake could end up the same way,” he cautioned.
