Ramadan: Agona East MP donates to Muslim community

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona East constituency, Queenstar Pokuah Sawyer, has made a generous donation of foodstuffs and money to Muslim branch executives and ward coordinators.

The donation included essentials such as rice, oil, sugar, Milo, milk, Lipton tea, money, and many more.

Speaking at her residence in Agona Kwanyako, she emphasised that this initiative aims to support the Muslim executives in the constituency during the ongoing Ramadan fasting.

This, she said, will enable them to break their fast each day with the provided food items.

“This afternoon, I called you to support you, my Muslim branch executives, with foodstuffs, as I usually do every year during Ramadan. Every time I receive a little, I call branch executives to share with them, and now it’s your turn because you are the ones fasting,” she stated.

Madam Sawyer assured the attendees that she would also extend the same support to all mosques in the constituency in the coming weeks.

She noted that the Imams in the constituency had gathered to pray for the party’s success in the recent elections, attributing part of their victory to this spiritual support.

Expressing her appreciation for the hard work of the executives, she remarked that their efforts were instrumental in securing the party’s success in both the parliamentary and presidential seats for the 2024 elections.

“God willing, next week I will visit all the mosques in the constituency to donate to them as usual. During the last month leading up to the 2024 election, the Imams in the various communities met and prayed for the party, and I believe it helped us in winning the election,” she concluded.
