Ghanaian rapper, Medikal, has sparked conversation on social media after boldly addressing his Artiste of the Year nomination during a live performance.
While performing at Shatta Wale’s concert at Kumawu, the rapper paused to speak about his recognition at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), asserting that he has outworked his peers over the past year.
“We have been nominated for artiste of the year. You all know that from beginning of last year and every year Medikal works harder than everyone else. So y’all should tell TGMA that no libilibi no labalaba,” he told the crowd.
His on-stage remarks quickly made rounds online, drawing mixed reactions from fans. Some supported his claim, praising his consistency and output.
One user, Kapy_Wolfery, commented:
“Medikal deserves it! He’s been putting in so much work.”
Others, however, pointed to stiff competition in the category, with some highlighting dancehall star Stonebwoy as a strong contender.
Another user, Kleensl8, wrote:
“Lol, he’s funny, no one worked harder than Stonebwoy if we are being honest but all artiste in that category deserves it tho.”
