Ghanaian actress, Joselyn Dumas, has revealed that she fell victim to a mobile money scam that wiped out her account.
In a video shared on March 17, 2026, she explained that the incident began when she contacted someone she believed was from DStv Ghana to upgrade her subscription.
According to her, the person sent links and convinced her to enter her details and PIN. Shortly after, all the money in her MTN Ghana mobile money account was withdrawn.
She further disclosed that the fraudster used her details to access her MoMo app, sign her up for a loan service (XtraCash), and take a loan in her name, which was also withdrawn. Later, when she deposited money, it was used to repay the loan.
Joselyn has since cautioned the public to never share their PINs or follow suspicious links and urged DStv Ghana to strengthen its systems to prevent such scams.
