A former Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, has urged Ghanaians, particularly members of the National Democratic Congress NDC to be wary of electoral polls on the next flagbearer to lead the party ahead of the Presidential election in 2028.
He cautioned that future polls which overlook the candidature of the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, as a frontrunner should be treated as questionable.
Ras Mubarak emphasised using the phrase “should be taken with a very big pinch of salt” to wit, ‘treating a statement by doubting its accuracy because it is likely exaggerated or false.’
“Any poll that does not feature the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, as a leading candidate should be taken with a very big pinch of salt,” he stated on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
He said this in reaction to Global InfoAnalytics recent poll, which says about 44% of floating voters, 41% of NPP voters prefer Finance Minister Ato Forson to lead the NDC in the 2028 presidential election.
Ras Mubarak further cast doubt on the findings, challenging that it does not reflect the realities in the political space within the Ghanaian society.
“I’ve seen my friend Mussa Dankwah’s latest poll on the NDC’s 2028 flagbearer. While it may seem early for such conversations, let me say this respectfully; the facts on the ground do not support his current findings,” he added in a Facebook post.
