The Ministry of Health has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise for health professionals, effective Thursday, April 16, 2026, following the granting of financial clearance.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Tony Goodman, the recruitment will be decentralised and conducted at the district level, based on verified vacancies.
The Ministry explained that the exercise will be guided by an approved quota system across all cadres and year groups, and will be implemented within the approved budgetary limits.
“The process will be competitive, transparent, and guided by an approved quota system across all cadres and year groups. All recruitments will be undertaken within approved budgetary limits,” the statement emphasised.
It advised qualified health professionals to monitor official Ministry of Health and district health administration channels for vacancy announcements and encourage applicants to prepare the required documentation and credentials ahead of the recruitment rollout.
The Ministry indicated that the financial clearance is valid until Thursday, December 31, 2026, assuring that the entire recruitment process will be completed within that period.
It also urged all eligible professionals to take advantage of the opportunity to contribute to strengthening healthcare delivery across the country.
