The government has successfully secured the procurement of 100 new 29-seater buses to help absorb the growing menace in the road transport sector.
This was revealed by Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications, in a public notice issued on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
According to him, the exercise will be carried out in three phases to ensure smooth integration into the transport system.
“In the meantime, 100 29-seater buses have arrived in the country to ease recent road transport challenges. They form part of 300 procured for the purpose. Another batch of 100 will arrive in August with the last batch of 100 arriving in November,” the Minister stated.
The procurement forms part of a broader government initiative to ease congestion and improve public transport services nationwide.
