President John Dramani Mahama will undertake an official visit to France on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron.
In a statement signed by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, during the visit, President Mahama will attend the 2026 One Health Summit in Lyon, followed by bilateral talks with President Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
As the founder of the Accra Reset Initiative, President Mahama will co-chair the high‑level segment of the One Health Summit with President Macron on Tuesday.
The summit will bring together world leaders, health ministers, and global health experts to discuss global health systems, sustainable food production, and strategies to address health challenges.
President Mahama will deliver two keynote addresses.
The first will be at a meeting on Global Health Architecture, co‑chaired by President Macron and WHO Director‑General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, focusing on reforms to global health initiatives and a Political Declaration on international health cooperation.
The second keynote will open the high‑level segment for heads of state and government, where he will outline Ghana’s commitments and views on global health security.
On Wednesday, April 8, President Mahama will visit the Élysée Palace for a bilateral meeting with President Macron to strengthen Ghana‑France relations and explore cooperation in health, education, trade, investment, and regional security.
Before the Élysée meeting, he will be received by Senate President Gérard Larcher at the Senate House.
President Mahama is expected to return to Accra shortly after the Élysée Palace meeting.
