The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully salvaged a mechanic workshop and several properties following a fire outbreak at Ritz Junction near the Ashaley Botwe Taxi Station, leaving one injured.

In a statement, the Service said the affected shop contained about forty (40) vehicles, twenty-five (25) motorbikes, and twenty (20) adjoining metal containers with their contents.

According to the GNFS, the fire involved multiple structures used for both commercial and residential purposes.

Firefighters responded promptly to a distress call at 12:08 p.m., deploying three fire tenders from the Madina, Adenta, and Legon Fire Stations to the scene.

The team, led by Assistant Divisional Officer Grade I (ADO I) Patrick Rene Darkwah, arrived within two minutes of departure and found the fire spreading rapidly.

Despite the intensity of the blaze, firefighters managed to confine it by 1:00 p.m., brought it under control at 2:07 p.m., and was fully extinguished at 2:40 p.m.

The GNFS disclosed that one firefighter got injured during the operation and was transported to the Madina Community Clinic for treatment, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
