Cabinet has approved a visa waiver agreement for citizens of Zambia, the Maldives, and Antigua and Barbuda, Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa disclosed.
The approval, according to the minister was granted on Wednesday, April 21, 2026, and covers holders of all categories of passports, including ordinary, service, and diplomatic.
Under this agreement, Ghanaians and citizens of the three countries can embark on a maximum of 30-day visits per trip without requiring visas.
The minister announced that Parliament is expected to ratify the cabinet approvals shortly to pave the way for implementation.
“We shall keep negotiating more Visa Waiver Agreements as we add greater value to the Ghanaian passport, and at the same time enhance security protocols around acquiring Ghanaian passports,” said Mr. Ablakwa in a Facebook post.
