Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Paul Tawiah Quaye, has passed away after a short illness.
According to reports, he died on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
Quaye served as IGP from May 16, 2009, to February 5, 2013, implementing notable reforms like the Police Command and Staff College and the Visibility, Accessibility, and Patrol Department, enhancing police operations.
He’s remembered as an exemplary leader who improved the police service’s responsiveness to security issues.
