A man believed to be in his early 60s has been found dead in his room at Kwashieman in Accra, after reportedly passing away unnoticed for about two days.
According to report by Angel FM’s reporter, Akua Pokua Anoteewa, the deceased, identified as Emmanuel Oblitey Odametey, lived in a compound house where co-tenants only discovered the situation after noticing a strong odour from his room.
A family member who had been caring for him during a recent illness said she was also unwell and hadn’t visited him in the days leading up to the incident.
Assembly Member, Grace Ennin, confirmed the incident, saying police have been notified.
The assembly has arranged for the room and house to be fumigated.
The circumstances surrounding Odametey’s death are unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
