The Ghanaian man featured in a viral video involving members of the Patriotic Alliance in South Africa, Emmanuel Asamoah, has spoken out about the incident.
Asamoah met with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Benjamin Anani Quashie, who confirmed his identity and assured that he is safe and unharmed.
“The little thing I will say is, I am doing very good yes the video you saw was me but by the grace of God nothing bad happened to me,” Asamoah said.
He also reassured his mother in Ghana, saying “Obaatanpa, just stay calm, I am very good and fit.”
The High Commissioner, Benjamin Anani Quashie, praised Asamoah for his calm demeanor and urged all Ghanaians in South Africa and elsewhere to obey local laws and maintain their reputation as law-abiding citizens.
He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Ozzy Lamola, are working to resolve the matter, emphasizing their commitment to serving and protecting Ghanaians.
