Police at Kodie have launched an investigation after a 34-year-old man was arrested for allegedly having sexual relations with more than 20 boys at Kronum-Heman in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect, identified only as Akoto, is in police custody and assisting with enquiries.

Residents report that the affected boys are aged between 13 and 17. A resident, Mr Seth, confirmed that the suspect had carnal knowledge of at least two boys.

The case came to light following an incident on Monday, May 11, 2026. Mr Seth disclosed that dozens of boys have since come forward.

“If I am not mistaken, over 20 boys in this area are alleging that the suspect has taken them through the same act,” Mr Seth said.

He added that the suspect was apprehended by residents and reportedly confessed to unit committee members that he had been dating one of the boys for six months. The boy’s identity has been withheld.

Mr Seth further noted that the suspect was nearly lynched by aggrieved residents, but authorities intervened and handed him over to the police.
