In a significant move to repurpose seized assets for national development, Colonel Dominic Buah, the Director of Operations at the National Anti-illegal Mining Operations Secretariat, has officially handed over a total of 100 pumping machines to the National Service Authority (NSA).

The equipment, which were confiscated during targeted enforcement operations against illegal mining sites have been redirected to support large-scale agricultural production.

The pumping machines were officially received by Ms. Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Director-General of the NSA accompanied by her two deputies, during a brief but symbolic ceremony on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

In her remarks, Ms. Seddoh emphasized that the repurposed equipment will play a critical role in the Authority’s ambitious agricultural drive, which seeks to cultivate 20,000 acres of maize and 10,000 acres of tomatoes in the coming days.

According to her, this initiative is designed to directly support the government’s flagship FEED GHANA Project, an agricultural transformation program.

It is aimed at enhancing food security, reducing import dependency, and creating jobs for young Ghanaians, including newly deployed national service personnel.
